PERFECT IMPERFECTION
This pattern owns its original to the Indonesian batik where the roots of the wax technique are to be found. And the birth of a way of designing which created the description “perfect imperfection”. A print design with a flaw that is so perfect that it no longer appears as a flaw and becomes iconic because of the uniqueness.
Are you looking for a more unique style? AFFASO is here to help you. Each shirt print design has a story to tell which is the basis for your idea how to combine. Start with the mood … Idonesia around 1920 … so think black & white. Explore nature in black and white and arrive at the thought of motorbikes. A beautiful leather jacket which will last, improving with age, adding value. Consider making this a purchase from a vintage store perhaps.

TRIBUTE TO CRAFTMANSHIP
In 1861, with a group of friends, William Morris started the decorating business Morris, Marshall, Faulkner & Co. providing beautiful, handcrafted prints. Morris was motivated by the desire to provide affordable ‘art for all’ as a protest to the upcoming industrial revolution. The hand block printing technique is similar to the way the batik and wax printing. In various countries and cultures this hand block printing became popular and founded the “perfect imperfection”.
AFFASO brings this time consuming and thus costly process back to life in a contemporary way; Realized by digital printing technique with the advantage of:
– Small batches;
– No over-production;
– Control on waste;
– Keeping the unique “perfect imperfection”
– Rich heritage on high quality fabric;
– Proven fit and feel.
