HOW TO WEAR YOUR
”CHAIN OF STRENGTH” SHIRT

Expressive and colourful with soul, already introduced in the early eighties by Harlem based Dapper Dan.

Dap is most known as the tailor and couturier who gave rap music its signature style, draping everyone from Big Daddy Kane to Mike Tyson in unforgettable, one-of-a kind counterfeits of the trendiest upmarket brand of the day: Gucci.

As such, he is both the keeper of a treasure trove of urban lore and a legend himself. He was awarded a tour through Ghana, Nigeria, Kenya, Uganda, Ethiopia, Egypt, and Tanzania via New York’s Urban League, a formative experience that inspired him to “Africanise” premium European brands. This enabled him to open his boutique on 125th Street in 1982 selling high-end furs and then quickly branched out to production and design, using leathers printed with Gucci and Louis Vuitton logos.
